  1. You must register the driver and search for pre-employment at the Clearinghouse. This will allow you to evaluate the driver's background within the Alcohol and Drug Program and check that they do not have any restrictions or inconveniences to drive.

The result of this test must be negative, so the employer can be reassured of the candidate's current status. Likewise, it is necessary to validate that the company and driver data are correct in order for the test to be legitimate.

 

Last but not least, you must have the Driver File which must contain the following documents:


  • DOT Authorized Employment Application.

  • Background check format for previous jobs.

  • State MVR 3-year history.

  • Copy of the current CDL.

  • Copy of the current medical certificate.

  •  Certificate of violations.

  •  Annual review of driving record.

  •  Drug test.

  •  Certificate of receipt of alcohol and drug policy.

  •  Clearinghouse pre-employment search.
